Data Engineer
Optiseller is a rapidly growing SaaS e-commerce data analytics business supporting online retailers worldwide selling more effectively in the e-commerce marketplaces using our Optiseller suite of tools. With our growth, we are constantly looking for energetic individuals to join our team.
We are an established Software Development company, on the go as Developing IT since 2005 and recently rebranding as Optiseller. At present we have 40,000 users of our software tools across 130 different countries.
Based in Stirling there is the opportunity of home working however we would like people to be able to come into the office as and when necessitated by the business which would be around monthly however the office will be there for those to use as often as preferred (when we are able to do this).
One of the roles we are looking to fill is that of Data Engineer whose responsibilities will include:
- Using industry-standard technologies such as T-SQL, PySpark, Blob Storage, Data Lakes and regular SQL Databases
- Constructing data models and structures that will allow both strong data scientific analysis and end-user self-service opportunities
- Construction, maintenance and optimisation of various, multi-technological pipelines executing ETL/ELT processes for all use cases
- Regular use of cloud technologies – such as Microsoft Azure
- Management, measurement and delivery of data availability and data observability metrics
- Technology research and awareness to identify new opportunities to improve our pipelines
We are looking for someone who has:
- A fanatical desire for personal development and personal leadership
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent SQL scripting skills
- Strong desire to use measurement and metrics to manage and optimise processes
Ideally, you will have:
- Data engineering experience within Python and/or Spark
- Outstanding organisation and documentation capability
- Previous use of cloud technologies
- Experience of data testing and building checkpoints within pipelines for automated checking
