As we enter February, most of us will be shifting from saving to splashing the cash on our loved ones ahead of the big day. Valentine's day is just 2 weeks away. Now is the time for Jewellery sellers to get their listings up to scratch to make the most of the increase in traffic. February this year will be even busier for some jewellery sellers as we look ahead to the eBay mandates. Stay tuned on how to make the most of the busy month ahead.
Use good quality images
Your product images are what reel the customer into clicking on the item in the first place. Therefore, your main image should be the best image you have, but one image is not enough. Once a customer is engaged, they will want to see more detail. eBay allows you to have 12 images, so make the most of them and use as many as you can to give the customer the most accurate depiction of the item. This is particularly important if the item is a gift. The buyer won’t be expecting any unwanted surprises ahead of the special day. You need a variety of high-resolution images on a white background to ensure that the item can be viewed clearly. You may also wish to include some images of the jewellery being worn to give the customer a better idea of how the jewellery will look on.
Promotions and seller offers
For such a widely celebrated holiday, you may be considering adding some promotions to your listings. This can help your listing rank higher in search and increase the likelihood of a sale too. Think wisely when using these promotions, is there a certain type of necklace that could do with a boost to get the edge over competitors? This is the type of listing which could benefit from a promotion, whereas others may be selling through without needing an offer to convert. You may wish to use an Order Discount where you can choose the discount, you’d like to offer such as BOGOF, or encourage an increase in spend with multi-buy, you can offer different discounts depending on the number of items a buyer orders. Make use of eBay Promotions Manager to easily apply offers to your listings. Also, review who is watching your listings. It might be the perfect time to send a seller offer and bag that sale before the big day! You could offer as little as 8% off and achieve the sale.
Populate Item Specifics
Item Specifics are vital to the eBay customer experience. They help simplify and speed up searching by narrowing down results. They greatly improve the search visibility of your eBay listings. By populating them you reduce the risk of being filtered out of relevant search results. There are 4 types of Item Specifics you must familiarise yourself with:
By populating these Item Specifics, you will naturally turn around any underperforming or stale listings and see vast improvements quickly.
Get ahead of the eBay mandate
Many jewellery sellers will be facing pending Item Specifics changes mandated by eBay. Getting these done ahead of the 22nd of February deadline, or better yet, ahead of Valentine’s Day, means that the increase in traffic that eBay have detected can find your listings. Promoted Listings
eBay is an extremely competitive marketplace, meaning you have to put the work in to get eyes on your listings. Promoted listings are the perfect way to drive impressions. But first, you have to be sure you are promoting the correct listings. There is little value in promoting a listing with poor quality data. This will negatively impact your conversion rate. In fact, you have to be an above standard or top-rated seller to promote your listings. Have you done all the work required to ensure your listings are the best quality possible first? While optimising listings will increase your visibility in search, promoted listings will increase your visibility across the entire customer shopping journey. Remember: you will only pay if your promoted item sells.
