With the ever-expanding number of item-specifics on eBay, one of the most common concerns amongst sellers on the platform is where they should focus. Prioritising is always a challenge, and even more so when managing hundreds or thousands of listings.
Enter Optiseller’s Buyer Demand indicator, a feature part of the latest Aspect Finder+ tool update. The Buyer Demand indicator does exactly what it says on the tin: it displays the importance of each item specific (or aspect) relative to what is selling on eBay.
The Buyer Demand star indicator relates to the number of eBay customers searching and filtering using this item specific or aspect. A 5-star rating means that the item specific is highly used by buyers to filter search results. The star indicator is based on previous buyer demand.
The example above shows how for the eBay category ‘Coats, Jackets & Waistcoats’, the item specific ‘Brand’ is the most popular amongst users. ‘Type’ gets three stars, while ‘Size’ has two, meaning it has more buyer demand than item specifics such as ‘Outer shell material’ and even, surprisingly, ‘Colour.’
The Buyer Demand star indicator not only appears on the search by category view. The new feature is also visible from the main Aspect Finder+ category report so that sellers always know which item specifics buyers tend to use to filter their search results.
As well as the star indicator, the Buyer Demand feature includes other useful information, such as the status of the item specific and whether it’s required, recommended or scheduled to change soon. Given the eBay mandates that sellers have grown used to expect, it is a handy way to see what is coming.
With the new Buyer Demand indicator, Aspect Finder+ continues to make things easy for eBay sellers. The new feature puts a lot of valuable data at the fingertips of users, but perhaps its core benefit is its practicality. The tool gives eBay sellers a straightforward way to prioritise their listings, based on what matters the most to them: the bottom line.
