Navigating your Store Performance Dashboard (part III)

After a first post giving you an overview of the Optiseller dashboard and a second post focusing on KPIs and Item Specifics, it's time for our third and last post in this series.

Today's post will offer further features and insights about things to consider to ensure a positive experience for your buyers.

Images

Ideally, a listing should have multiple high-quality images. You can have up to 12 images for one listing. Be sure to add as many as you can so you are being transparent about what you are selling and the quality of the product. The range of images will reassure buyers that your store is legitimate and decreases the chance of returns. We also advise that you add in different images for variations of the same product e.g. different coloured items. Our Imagery KPIs will highlight the listings that do not make the best use of images. Be sure to take note and update these.

Titles

Every word in the title of the listing should be working hard to ensure that your item is found in searches using common keywords. You should use as much of the available space as possible, we recommend that titles are between 70 and 80 characters long.

By all means, include the Item Specifics and category in the title as this will help bring customers looking for your product directly to the listing.

Our KPIs can identify listings where the title is not optimal, and we also have tools to suggest improvements - see Item Specifics Report.

There are various elements where you should pay attention to boost your listings.

Missing Fitment Info

Not having the correct fitment data for your listings will have a detrimental effect on sales, but the dashboard is here to help. Optiseller will analyse your listings and flag any listing within a category that supports fitment/compatibility information that does not specify any fitment data such as brand, manufacture part number and reference OE/OEM number, amongst others. Buyers of motor parts and accessories will be expecting this information to be readily available, without it, they cannot be sure that your item will suit their needs.

These details could be the difference between a customer buying your product or purchasing from elsewhere.

(Please note that this feature is currently only supported for sellers in the UK, Italy, France, and Germany.)

Secondary Category

Reach more buyers and generate more interest in your item by listing in two categories. For example, you could list a vintage table from Japan in both the Asian/Oriental Antiques category and the Antique Furniture category. As both are equally relevant, buyers who are looking in each of these categories will come across your listing, therefore increasing the likelihood of a sale.

Cross Border Trade (CBT)

Cross Border Trading or CBT is the buying and selling of goods and services between businesses in neighbouring countries, with the seller being in one country and the buyer in another country. Ensuring your listings offer this service greatly increases the number of prospective buyers to those outside of your country.

Global Shipping Programme

There are potentially millions of buyers around the world looking for something exactly like what you have to sell. We make it easy to reach a global audience and post your sold items overseas.

In fact, with the Global Shipping Programme (GSP) international postage is just as simple as selling to someone in the UK.

All you need to do is post the item to a UK Shipping Centre, and eBay will take care of customs clearance, tracking and all the rest. You don’t have to pay anything extra - just the cost of posting the item to the UK Shipping Centre.

Top Rated

Once you have successfully fulfilled the requirements highlighted by the store performance dashboard, you can go one step further to gain customers' trust. If you're a PowerSeller, you can qualify for eBay Top-rated Seller status at an account level. This means you've met our eBay Top-rated Seller performance standards. Qualifying for eBay Top-rated Seller account status means your listings enjoy improved visibility in Best Match search results.

We hope we have made this tool seem a bit less intimidating and you can now get to work on making your store the best it can be!

If you missed them, check out the first post in this series here and the second post here for more information on the Store Performance Dashboard.
